Date: 18 March
Time: 19:00 – 20:30
Format: Online webinar (Microsoft Teams) – In English
Nuclear chemistry plays a key role in many highly valorized technologies, from energy production and medical diagnostics and treatments to advanced research in chemistry and biology. Yet, despite its societal impact, the discipline often remains poorly understood.
This webinar aims to bring together chemists and scientists to discuss the current status of nuclear chemistry in Belgium, its role in cutting-edge research and innovation, and the challenges and needs expected in the coming years.
The event will feature three invited speakers (Pascal Froment, Thibault Gendron and Sébastien Penninckx), each delivering a 15-minute presentation covering their scientific background, expertise, and key challenges. These expert contributions will serve as a basis for an open and interactive discussion on current R&D efforts and the future of nuclear chemistry, and on how this discipline can contribute to addressing major societal needs, particularly in energy, medicine, and research.
